Shop Drawings

Shop and Fabrication drawings are my specialties.  Fine Woodworking is my passion, and so is the attention to detail that defines my work.

My drawing skills can build 3D models of most things you can imagine. My drawings are– what you see– is what you get. If the parts fit correctly in the model, they fit correctly in fabrication. I create CNC and waterjet files from 2D drawings when they are fairly straightforward, but complex objects must fit, so I create them by extracting the parts from the model. I have an excellent track of making all the puzzle pieces fit.

Freelance Design and Construction Drawings

I work freelance remotely for many companies throughout The United States. I build virtual prototypes on the computer. The best of both worlds is a 3D model and an orthographic projection on the same sheet of drafting.

The 3D model clarifies details that are not clear on the original design drawings. Whether the project is scenery for the theatre or architectural millwork having hands-on experience is crucial for the technical designer to be able to draw accurate plans. I spent many years building what I now draw for my clients.

My workflow consists of using AutoCad, SketchUp and VectorWorks either as stand alone programs or using them together. I create 3D models that produce 2D Draftings as well as create 2d orthographic projections. I can produce AutoCad files for CNC and Waterjet output.
